About little art

Where creativity meets calm and out-of-the-box thinking

Harriet Poole Life Coach, Founder of little art

I’m Harriet Norwood Poole — artist, educator, improv comedy performer and Creative Life and Mindfulness Coach. For over two decades, I’ve explored how creativity helps us make sense of who we are and how we connect with others.

At the heart of little art is a simple, human truth: we are all creative.
Awakening our inner creator — the part of us that plays, experiments, questions, self-expresses and leaves a unique mark on the world — is not a luxury or a rebellion. It’s a way of staying connected to what makes us human, restoring our sense of possibility, nurturing resilience, and rediscovering quiet joy.

little art grew from this belief — and from a scribble.
When my daughter was two, she made a loose, wandering mark with a trailing thread. I embraced it as our logo because it held the spirit of little artplayful, imperfect, and full of possibility.

Everyday Creativity

Creativity doesn’t only live in studios or on stages — it’s woven into daily life. Cooking without a recipe, creating a cosy reading corner in your home, finding an unexpected solution to a problem in the shower, or doodling to help you think — these small acts are ways we press pause, relax the mind and access our inner creative self more easily.

In a world facing complex challenges — where speed, certainty and conformity often overshadow curiosity — these moments matter. Creativity helps us adapt, reimagine and connect, even in uncertain times.

My Creative Journey

For many years, my creative writing voice lay dormant. Returning to it unlocked something that visual art alone couldn’t hold — a different way of listening, expressing and being.

I continue to teach art alongside running little art, staying close to the curiosity, awe and wonder of children — qualities I bring into my work with adults, teams and communities to spark fresh perspectives and imaginative thinking.

Professional Background

I hold a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Theatre: Visual Language of Performance.

I completed a six-month Transformational Life Coach training programme at Animas, accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), followed by additional training in Clean Language coaching and Mindfulness coaching.

I’m a qualified art teacher with over 20 years of experience. For more than 12 years, I was Director of Visual Arts and Design at The BRIT School, leading creative teams, mentoring staff and shaping innovative curricula.

Alongside this, I perform regularly in improv comedy, a practice that keeps me spontaneous, present and playful.

This breadth of experience shapes little art into a practice that is thoughtful, flexible and rooted in real-world creativity — blending artistic exploration with educational depth and mindful facilitation.
